Sliding Door Closet Configurations
Sliding door closets can be designed in different configurations depending on the available space, storage requirements and interior layout.
Built-In Sliding Door Closets
Built-in sliding door closets are designed to fit a defined space within the room, making efficient use of the available wall area. The closet can be customized to the required width, height and internal configuration.
Floor-to-Ceiling Sliding Door Closets
Floor-to-ceiling designs extend the closet to the full available height, maximizing vertical storage and creating a continuous architectural appearance. They can be combined with frameless or aluminum-frame sliding door systems.
Freestanding Sliding Door Wardrobes
Freestanding wardrobes are independent units that can be positioned within the room without being fully integrated into the surrounding walls. They provide flexibility in placement while still allowing customization of dimensions, finishes and internal storage.
Corner Sliding Door Closets
Corner configurations can make use of two intersecting walls and are suitable for spaces where a conventional straight wardrobe would leave unused areas. The internal layout can be developed around the available corner space.

Lacquered Doors
The door material and finish have a major effect on the appearance, maintenance and cost of a sliding door closet. TAQ can supply several commonly used options for different interior styles and project requirements.
Melamine Finish
Melamine is a practical and cost-effective finish for both closet doors and carcasses. It is available in a wide selection of solid colors, wood patterns and textures, providing flexibility for different interior styles.
PET Finish
PET-coated panels provide a consistent surface with a contemporary appearance. They are available in different colors and surface effects and can be used for sliding door panels in modern bedroom interiors.
Natural Wood Veneer
Natural wood veneer provides the appearance and texture of real timber while being applied to a stable engineered-wood substrate. Different wood species, grain patterns and finishes can be selected to create a natural wood appearance.
Glass & Mirror Options
Glass and mirror panels can be incorporated as complementary elements rather than treated as separate closet systems. They can be combined with lacquered, melamine or wood veneer panels and used with aluminum frames to create different visual effects.
Sliding Door Systems & Panel Designs
The sliding system and door profile are important design decisions. TAQ can supply several configurations, from minimal frameless designs to more economical aluminum-frame systems.
Slim Aluminum-Frame Sliding Doors
Slim aluminum profiles provide a minimalist appearance while allowing different panel materials, including glass, mirror and wood-based panels. Depending on the selected system, the sliding tracks can be concealed or visible.
Aluminum-Frame Sliding Doors
Aluminum-frame systems with wider profiles and visible sliding tracks provide a practical and economical solution. They can accommodate different door panel materials while offering a durable and straightforward sliding configuration.
Frameless Sliding Doors
Frameless sliding doors create a clean, uninterrupted appearance with minimal visible framing. These systems typically use more sophisticated sliding hardware, with concealed or integrated tracks to maintain a streamlined look.
Internal Storage & Hardware
The sliding doors are only one part of the closet. The internal layout can be customized according to the type of clothing, accessories and personal storage requirements.
Options can include:
• Long and short garment hanging sections
• Adjustable shelves
• Internal drawers
• Shoe storage
• Pull-out storage
• Trouser and tie racks
• Jewelry and accessory compartments
• Laundry storage
• Integrated lighting
• Lift-up hanging mechanisms
• Other internal organizers
The internal configuration can be developed together with the closet dimensions and door arrangement so that the available space is used efficiently.
Sliding Door Hardware & Operation
The sliding system determines how the doors move and contributes to their overall appearance and ease of use. Depending on the selected system, options may include:
• Concealed or visible tracks
• Top-hung or bottom-running systems
• Aluminum tracks and profiles
• Sliding rollers
• Soft-closing mechanisms
• Integrated or external handles
• Different door panel weight and size requirements
The appropriate hardware is selected according to the door construction, dimensions and project requirements.
Custom Design & Engineering
Sliding door closets are developed around the dimensions and requirements of each project rather than a fixed standard configuration.
TAQ can work from architectural drawings, interior design drawings or your own specifications. The design can be developed around:
• Overall closet dimensions
• Floor-to-ceiling height
• Number and width of sliding door panels
• Door materials and finishes
• Frame and track configuration
• Internal storage requirements
• Hardware selection
• Color and material coordination with other interior elements
Where required, 2D or 3D drawings can be prepared for review and approval before production.
